Debut: Kamikazecon

Why Riku?:
I WAS going to make Kyo from Fruits Basket, but my friend Michael was making Sora and at the time we had no con buddies and no one else was cosplaying Kingdom Hearts (everyone else we knew was doing Naruto), so... He needed a Riku obviously. ;P But seriously, Riku FTW. I always thought he was awesome and he was definately my first choice out of anyone in Kingdom Hearts to cosplay. I thought I had a lot in common with him, who knows if I do or not.

Difficulty:

Favorite Aspect:
The shirt. The pants are cool too, especially the buckles at the bottom... But I LOVE the shirt. It's just so pretty. It's got all this bias tape zigzagging across it and oh god the straps I made completely the wrong way, they look find but it could have been SOOO much easier if I had done it right. All the glue it took to fuse the front of a yellow shirt to a black one... Aaaah, good memories... Memories of me sitting there with an iron in one hand and another covering my eyes whilst I pray I don't mess up AGAIN...

Extra Notes:
This was my first cosplay... It would have been SOOO much easier if it was my second or third (as it's numerous repairs and upgrades will tell you). It took me a solid two months to make, and it was nothing short of a huge pain in my cosplaying butt. There were so many aspects other than just sewing involved, I had to get creative...
Much thanks to michael for cutting out the wood for my Soul Eater. I was more than a little intimidated by a jigsaw back then. ^^;; It really helped bring my cosplay together. And that thing is SO FUN to swing around. XD;;; (this is why cons have weapons policies). Also, thanks to my mommy for the incredible financial and technical aid (cosplay is expensive and those patterns are darned confusing).
