Debut: Shiokazecon

Why Cloud?:
Since the release of Final Fantasy VII almost six years ago, inside I have always held onto my gripping, dramatic quest alongside ex–Soldier Cloud Strife, and from that quest I became inspired to make this costume. With the uprise of cg wonder that is Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, the desire to create myself in the image of Cloud was more than I could ignore. Pulling together friends, resources, and minimal cash, a beautiful costume was brought forth, and today rivals my favorite costume of all, Valor Drive Sora. Cloud is a character who’s past and emotions I can identify with; that said, I felt it only natural to bring him to life in full-fledge costume glory. Deep down, I feel a little like Cloud Strife myself *but more like Gackt :-p.* Not that matters, though. They might as well be twins >_<.

Difficulty:

Favorite Aspect:
The sword; definitely the sword. That baby was put together in a total of 7 1/2 hours. They say you can’t rush art, but my friend Austin and I came as close as anyone ever has.

Extra Notes:
Thanks to:
Gordon: Thank you for helping make the shoulder armor last-minute, and giving life to the term “industrial paper maché.”
Joy: Thank you for creating such an awesome wolf emblem for my armor. I know it took a lot of frustrating, rubber-steeped time creating it.
Austin: Thank you for making my Buster Sword one of the best there is, and for sacrificing an entire day at the con to do so. I can never tell you how much I appreciate that.
Doris: Thank you for showing me how to hem a half man-skirt. Also, thanks for not falling over laughing when I asked how to hem a half man-skirt. ^_^;
